Ulster Folk Park therapists were welcomed by Melmount Manor residents who enjoyed a month of interesting activities facilitated by the therapists from Omagh. One resident, pictured above can be seen enjoying one of the activities!
Activities ranged from movement to music, art, ball games, and making music with movement; shapes and sounds created by residents and staff alike should be seen to be believed, just amazing, hard to believe people of a certain age could be so supple!
Reminiscence therapy was also a great favourite with residents. The therapists provided numerous photographs of the surrounding areas in days gone by and a number of artefacts that brought back many happy memories for our residents.
Plans are now in place to continue these activities and added to them, one activity will be making pompoms. Further visits to the Folk Park for summer events will take place in the warmer months.
