It’s not all work and no play for the staff and residents at Culmore Manor Care Home.
Over the past number of years St Columb’s College have visited the nursing home as part of their “Citizenship Programme”. Around 12 boys call once a week for a period of 10 weeks before moving to another part of their Citizenship Programme.
They visit Culmore Manor from 2.00pm -3.00pm each Thursday during term time. When here they interact with our residents by doing craftwork, floor games and music. The residents look forward to them calling, the boys enjoy the banter and the stories the resident’s tell and staff enjoy a break from the norm getting involved with the floor games.
The picture above was taken on 12th February 2015 and shows the boys and residents playing skittles. When the competition heats up it is hard to tell who enjoys it the most the boys, the residents or the staff!!!
