On Thursday 16th July Dunanney Care Home held a Tall Ships Party. The idea behind this was ‘if residents couldn’t attend the Tall Ships Festival at Belfast Quayside, we would bring the Tall Ships to residents’.
Activity Therapist, Joanne McTernaghan contacted Belfast City Council who were kind enough to donate a large pop-up display, a large flag and some posters to decorate the home. The Council also kindly provided Tall Ships T-Shirts for the staff to wear at the event.
During the day live music and vocals were provided by musician, Trevor Dixon which certainly got the party started as able residents enjoyed a dance!
A high tea with cakes and buns were order of the day, enough to rival any nautical restaurant offering.
On speaking to the residents after the party, all said they enjoyed the event and look forward to many more in the future….fortunately for them they didn’t have to wait too long…
