Female residents from Culmore Manor Care Home were treated to their annual ladies shopping trip on Friday 22nd July. Six eager lady shoppers, all residents at Culmore Manor Care Home were accompanied by staff during some retail indulgence at a trip to Letterkenny in County Donegal.
Wishing to avoid the dip in exchange rates, clued in residents hot footed it to their local bureau de change prior to the Brexit poll to ensure they got the best value for money against the pound, ensuring their Sterling converted to Euro would go further on their shopping trip. The ladies purses bulged with that little extra in currency they received. All foreign currency would be spent at their destination in Co Donegal at Letterkenny’s Shopping and Retail Park.
Having laughed and sang during the entire journey the keen consumers composed themselves before the serious business of shopping began. Penny’s (a.k.a. Primark for those in the North) got a rattle first, followed by lunch to ensure batteries were sufficiently recharged for round two in the Retail Park. Costa coffee was the next stop along on Culmore Manor Care Home residents’ retail marathon ensuring Co Donegal coffee was given a fair trial for comparison to that enjoyed at home!
All exhausted and penniless Culmore Manor Care Home residents made their way back home to see what was on the tea time menu. As for all of the other details of the trip, well, you know what they say, “What happens on tour stays on tour!”
