On Thursday 25th August 2016, Culmore Manor Care Home hosted a Country and Western Night to raise monies for the Comfort Fund.
Residents and staff have an insatiable appetite for all things Western and so it was that a Country theme seemed fitting for the inaugural summer party.
Culmore Manor, strategically located in the Northwest of the province in Derry / Londonderry, didn’t let the weather interfere with their plans to hold their annual summer party and held an indoor celebration!
The event, an evening affair, began with residents, families and staff arriving decked out in their checked shirts and cowboy hats. Visitors at the event being designer-label followers, Stetson and Ten Gallon head attire made an appearance!
Local musicians/entertainers, William and Mena provided the musical backdrop of tunes for the line dancing enthusiasts, those able bodied and not all took part, either on the floor or enjoying as spectators.
In true Northern Irish style, the infamous ‘Cowboy Supper’ was dished up during the interlude in activities and proved a firm favourite with many. The sausage, beans and chips certainly gave fuel for the second half of the evening!
