The first of our summer seasonal outings saw female residents at the home indulge in what ladies do best…a little retail therapy. On Tuesday 14th July staff accompanied lady residents whilst shopping in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
The day trippers had opportunity to purchase clothing from local boutiques, peruse and procure regional crafts and sample sweet treats. All stopped for a bite of lunch with the ladies choosing from an impressive menu, rounded off with coffee and cake for good measure. Although staff were strictly on duty, some were seen to be getting in on the retail action!
National heritage and history are celebrated throughout the home and as such residents and staff headed to the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh on 15th July. Visitors journeyed from old Ireland following the immigrants from their old life to their new life in America. The cottages, equipment and lifestyle gave residents and staff plenty to talk about over lunch. A spot of souvenir hunting was enjoyed before heading home.
Thanks to all the staff who attended both days without you the trips would not be possible.
