Thanks to our Activity Co-ordinator, Veronica, at Melmount Manor Care Home. The Residents here enjoyed a busy December of activity and entertainment.Throughout December we had 21 individuals or groups from schools, community organisations, representatives and groups from the council and local choirs. Our regulars “Just us” provided music and singing for one of the parties. The daughter of one staff member brought her friend along and performed some of their award winning Irish dances and the residents were delighted with the performance. The local “Alley Theatre” production company performed a number of shows. We had creative writers in sharing their talents. There were people in reading poetry and a lady from the Ulster Museum did some Reminiscence groups with the residents. We had Carmel doing music and movement and a number of individuals both male and female. One young lady had an amazing talent for opera singing!
All of these very talented people continue to entertain residents.
The most recent and exciting piece of work lead by our Activity Co-ordinator Sophia, is the renovating of some of our old and dull pieces of furniture to go with our freshly painted rooms. The results as you can see are fantastic!
